My last week in the NetherlandsSo, this is it. My last week in the Netherlands.. Or well, for the next 3 months at least. I'll be heading off to Microsoft next saturday (the 24th). My first day won't be until the tuesday after that, but I want to be there a couple of days early to get used to the timezone, etc. It is, afterall, a very big change. In fact, a lot of things will change for me when this week has ended. For the first time I will be living on my own, so I will have to make myself some dinner, wash my own clothes, do my own groceries, etc etc... For 3 months on end. But that's not all! After my Internship at Microsoft I will be moving back to home, of course.. For one week. One more week to get used to the timezone over here again, and then Im moving on to Amsterdam, where I will be staying for the next 5 months or so to finish my work experience for school, at a great company called Oberon. Of course I'm going to apply for another internship for next year. So, if all goes well, I will be living with my parents for only 2 or 3 months and then I will be moving to the USA, again. Wow! I'm quite excited about all this, of course, but also quite nervous (who wouldn't be?), so wish me luck! But first let's concentrate on the week that lies ahead. I have to finalize my last semester at school (we're building a small jet-boat controlled via bluetooth) and I have to take care of some last minute things (such as travel insurance, etc). And don't worry, I'm sure I'll find some spare time between all of this to work on projects such as BOT2K3 :-) New laptopFinally! I got a new laptop last thursday. Woo! I love it. Now I can work on my stuff everywhere at home, and not be bound to my desk. Like, say, watch football on the TV while working on BOT2K3 on the couch. Not that I couldn't watch football on my other machine (seeing as I got a PCTV card, but still!). For those who want to know the specs (short summary): Intel Core Duo 1,66Ghz, 1GB RAM, 128 MB Intel Video Card. I also got a new router with it (of course, otherwise I wont have wireless internet..), and a new Logitech mouse (MX610, which totally rocks by the way.. I mean, it even has an "IM Notificiation"!). Oh and, woo, one more week until I head off to Microsoft! :-) The evilly happy songGot out of bed with a bad mood? Broke some limb? Just not feeling happy? Play this song for a couple of hours (requires Flash, get the MP3 here), keep it on repeat(!) and I assure you, you'll feel a lot better. Warning: might cause sleepyness after listening to it for 24 hours straight. |
